Oleksandr Lavrynovych: Inadequate Funding of the Election Campaign threatens the Election Process
Oleksandr Lavrynovych, the First Vice Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine deems the lack of Central Election Committee financing for the proper presidential elections organization alarming signal. The politician declared it on Monday in the course of the briefing for the journalists, basing at the official Central Election Committee document.
"The situation is complicated and alarming, - O. Lavrynovych has emphasized and supposed that "Is it either the total incomprehension of the situation or desire to stop the election process at all. Probably we would receive the answers soon."
Giving answers to the questions regarding the parliamentary reaction on this situation, O. Lavrynovych proclaimed that: "The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has adopted all the essential issues regarding the election process. There is an article in the Law of Ukraine on the State Budget 2009 with the relevant personnel appointments. The Law is to be followed."
"It is obvious that there are candidates for the presidential office that have an intention to derange the election as they occupy offices for the present time that completely satisfy them. They would like to preserve their positions and chairs as long as possible",- O. Lavrynovych announced.
The Pres-Service of the First Vice-Chairman informed on the fact that on 21.12.2009 the Verkhovna Rada received a letter signed by V. Shapoval, the Chairman of the Central Election Committee (№ 21-18-3069 from 20.12.2009). The letter contains the information on "the situation concerning the election process funding" that was directed for the corresponding scrutiny.
